In the past few months we have officially welcomed two new members. Both are no strangers, they are ExxonMobil and HES.
HES international already has a membership for their terminal in the Botlek, the HES Botlek Tank Terminal (HBTT). In 2021 they announced their intention of joining the Schermenpool with their new terminal on the Maasvlakte. This terminal, the HES Hartel Tank Terminal (HHTT), is nearing completion. After a meeting and visit at their terminal they became a member. Two spots for launching oil booms will be realised on the terminal, one will be a permanent location with a oil boom container and the other will be a auxiliary launching site. The HHTT has a port for inland barges, the Hudsonhaven. This port was already there but has been altered, the current port is a part of a now defunct stretch of the Hartelkanaal which existed before the opening to the Beerkanaal was realised. Besides this port HHTT has a 1200 metre long deep sea quay in the Mississippihaven for receiving sea going vessels. New build quay
ExxonMobile Chemicals Holland BV has also applied for Schermenpool membership. They have their plant in the Europoort area and make use of three jetties for transshipment. After a meeting and visit at their terminal they became a member. There will be no launch location realised at ExxonMobil as this is well covered close to their location.
